The Midvale Community Council serves the residents of Midvale living west of State Street, as a forum to discuss issues that affect the quality of life in your neighborhood and your community. The community council is also an advisory body to the City Council and the city staff. The discussions of the council address three primary categories; changes, problems, and service or outreach needs.

Typical changes are:
1. Community wide projects, (Capital Improvement Projects) which include roads, sidewalks and municipal facilities.
2. Police and fire service, its effectiveness, and communication needs.
3. Recreation and community activities as exemplifies by the Boys & Girls Club, Copperview Community Center, Senior Citizens, and area service clubs.
4. Creating safe neighborhoods.
5. Participating in planning for expansion to include affordable housing and housing for special populations. The council reviews new construction proposals.
6. Helping to assist in budget planning and the setting of budget priorities.
Many of the problems discussed in the community council concern the effects of crime in our neighborhoods. This ranges from minor noise disturbances to major problems of drug use, production, and distribution.
The Community Council is especially proud of its role in recruiting volunteers for the schools, including volunteers ofr literacy programs. The council is continually working to identify needs and find solutions.
Meeting are held on the third Wednesday of every month in the Midvale City Council Chambers at City Hall, 655 West Center Street. Meeting begin at 7 p.m. Interested Midvale residents are invited to participate
